We are manufacturing direct upgraded replacement for original Shellplate for Dillon 1050 and 1100 press.
The main idea of this upgrade is to make a more precise shellplate with very smooth indexing and very smooth insertion of new brasses in the process. Our shellplate comes with special main nut with radial style of securing the thread so the nut will not put any other force to shellplate after tightening. We made a space between these two parts to be able to put bearing in so the indexing is extremely smooth after right tightening of the main nut.
Our shellplate is made of high quality tool steel and all functional surfaces are grinded. This technological process guarantees mutual parallelism of functional surfaces "in a hundred" (parallelism is +-0.005 mm). This fact is important for the proper functioning of the bearing - it sits on the maximum contact area. The individual positions in the Shellplate are engraved by laser for the clarity of your reloading process. We made the insertion of new cartridges into position as smooth as possible. The bottom of each position is not completely open as you are used to with a standard Shellplate, there is only a hole to pop out the old match, swagger and then fit the new match. The aim is to leave as much material as possible on the bottom and thereby extend the lifespan of the shellplate. The Shellplate is the end of this entire production process DLC coated, which, among other things, provides even higher surface hardness on this hardened part.
The main nut is made on a CNC lathe and then grinded to make the surface with the highest quality for bearing contact. The technological production procedure is chosen so that the tolerance of the runout of the front bearing surface to the thread does not exceed +-0.01 mm. 4 brass locking pins are fitted around the diameter to make the perfect steady position of the main nut. These pins are machined together with the internal thread of the nut, so their pressure guarantees an extremely precise and gentle securing of the position you set. The entire nut is nitrided due to the highest possible hardness of the contact surface with the bearing.
The total height of this assembly does not exceed the thread on your press. There is therefore no need for a pad under the press head or any other modifications.
Before installing the kits, we strongly recommend cleaning the entire area under the Shellpate on your press as carefully as possible. Any inequality will have a negative effect on the function of the assembly.
